how can you regress and be sexual at the same time?
a lot of agere blogs on tumblr are sfw only, which is completely fine! for some people, regression involves going into a mindset where sexual/adult content can be distressing. however, for sex-positive regressors this isn't the case.in the case of plural systems, some child alters in adult bodies don't feel immature, and they may even have a sexual role (possibly as a reflection of trauma, but not always). some regressors don't regress to prepubescent ages. in some cases, healthy sexual expression can also be a comforting or healing part of regression.personally, i went through puberty early and have been hypersexual since a young age. as a kid, knowing about sex and seeing sexual content didn't traumatize me. being okay with adult content while regressed is just a reflection of how i myself was as a child, and it isn't distressing or damaging.
how is this different from ageplay?
to break this down, i'll define the different concepts:ageplay: a roleplay kink where one person treats the other as if they were a different age. this includes kinks like ddlg, but the age dynamics can vary and don't necessarily involve one person roleplaying as a minor.sex-positive age regression: when a regressor is not distressed by or avoidant of sexual/adult content while regressed. they may or may not have sex while regressed, and the regression is not purely sexual in nature.as you can see, ageplay doesn't necessarily involve regression and is often purely roleplay. sex-positive age regression, meanwhile, doesn't happen for primarily sexual reasons, nor do all sex-positive regressors have sex while regressed. regression in of itself is not a kink.
why did you make this term?
the agere community on tumblr feels overwhelmingly sfw and discourages kink/nsfw interaction. i think this is fine and i respect those dnis, but it made me feel very much like an outsider and like the community wasn't for me.i started this blog as a way to try and express myself and my way of regression without shame, and wanted an easy way to differentiate my experiences from both sfw agere and kink. i hope other regressors like me can find comfort in my blog and this term!
